What is OHNS Grade ? or Full Form of OHNS ?
OHNS is a Oil Hardening and Non Shrinking Cold Work Tool Steel & Die Steel with properties such as Good Durability, Excellent wear resistance and holds a good cutting edge. It is an excellent general purpose tool steel often used where the expense of a High Carbon High Chromium Tool Steel would not be justified. This grade is an Oil Hardening Tool Steel type supplied in the annealed condition. It is also known as AISI O1 or Just O1, DIN 1.2510 Round Bars.

Applications of OHNS Round Bars, Square Bars & Flat Bars :
Being a General Purpose Tool Steel, it is typically used in applications where alloy steels cannot provide sufficient hardness, strength, and wear resistance. In blanking and stamping dies for cutting sheets up to 6 mm thickness, drills, shear blades, gauges, threading tools, broaches, measuring tools, plastic moulds, guide rails.
Wear-resistant non-deformable cold mold, such as sheet stamping dies, embossing dies for jewelry. All kinds of metal stamping die and forming tools, such as notches cutting die, die sleeve. Cutting tools, woodworking cutting tools. Wear small plastic molding and plastic molded parts. Making of aluminum, zinc and copper alloy extrusion dies, casting dies and hot shearing blades, etc. Small silver Polish steel (scaled and cold drawn), which is an ideal material for ejection pins and sleeves.
