Description of E 308-16 :
E308-16 is electrode, which shows 18%Cr-8%Ni austenitic weld metal virtually free from spatter. It is superb in usability. It is excellent in heat and corrosion resistance. It is widely used for various chemical and food processing industry and buildings in austenitic stainless steel job. Peeling-off of the slag is very good.
E 308-16 Electrode with Controlled ferrite Content. The Weld metal is highly resistant to cracking corrosion and oxidation at high temperature. The weld metal has excellent creep strength and is of radiographic quality.

Application of E 308-16 :
E308-16 is designed for use in welding of the following 18-8 stainless steel types: 301, 302,303, 304, 305 and 308. The weld deposit has the proper chemical content and balance for satisfactory welding of type 308, and therefore is suitable for welding 18-8 types of lower alloy content. Sound weld metal and corrosion resistance equal to or greater than that of the parent metal are assured.
E308-16 electrodes provide corrosion resistance and physical properties equal to or greater than the steels for which they are recommended.
