EN1A is a low carbon-manganese free cutting steel suitable for machining using both automatic and CNC machines. EN1A is used for turned components, such as nuts, bolts, studs and hydraulic fittings. EN1A, also known as 230M07, can be case hardened to produce components with enhanced wear resistance. EN1A can also be supplied in a leaded grade, EN1A Pb, 230M07pb.

Description of EN1A Pb (Leaded):

EN1APb / 230M07Pb is a low carbon leaded free cutting steel, bright drawn or smooth turned with a consistently excellent level of machinability. The addition of lead plus the High Sulphur and phosphorous levels form a lubricating effect resulting in extremely improved machinability with little affect on the mechanical properties.

Welding is not recommended due to High Sulfur and lead content. En1APb / 230M07Pb will electroplate but is not suitable for Hot Dip Galvanizing.Used extensively in automatic screw machines for manufacturing parts requiring considerable machining and close tolerances.

EN1A LEADED STEEL. En1a Leaded Steel are low carbon free cutting engineering mild steels. It has additional sulphur and lead added so as to enable easy machining. They are most suitable and used mainly in automatic and CNC machines in bright form. It is also used extensively in automatic screw machines  / traub machines for manufacturing parts requiring considerable machining and close tolerances. It gives superior finish. One of the major used is to make hydraulic pipe fittings.

The addition of lead plus the high Sulphur and phosphorous levels form a lubricating effect. This results in extremely improved machinability with little affect on the mechanical properties. Welding is not recommended due to high Sulphur and lead content.
