Stainless Steel 415 / 1.4313 / F6NM Round Bars & Forged Bars

SS415 is a martensitic stainless steel grade, which can be hardened with heat threatment. This grade is written as 1.4313 or X3CrNiMo13-4 according to EN norm and it is written as UNS S41500 according to UNS norm. It starts with 415 number according to UNS norm so because of this, some sources accept this grade also as AISI 415 stainless steel. SS 415 material is a magnetic grade and SS415 heat treated according to the following three different heat thereatment contitions: QT650, QT780, QT900. The numbers 650, 780 and 900 are showing the minimum tensile MPA strenght of the materials. Because of high strength, AISI 415 usually used in chemical industries and pump shafts. If there is a high degree, 1.4313 grade will be not so appropriate.

1.4313 | F6NM | UNS S41500 is a corrosion and acid resistant, soft martensitic chromium-nickel steel with added molybdenum. The high toughness properties provide 1.4313 with excellent capabilities and increasing popularity. Valves, compressors, and centrifuges are typically made of this stainless steel. Steel 1.4313 – also known as F6NM – is primarily used in the oil industry and in components for power plants and reactor technology. This stainless-steel grade is also used for the manufacture of turbines for hydroelectric power plants.
